Change Starts at Home ✊🏿✊🏾✊🏽✊🏼✊🏻

As a company founded by (mostly) white people, we realize that change needs to start at home.

Our business has roots in the outdoors.  Exploring natural places enables everyone to see the world in a new way, but it is an experience that is also segregated to selected portions of our society.

Think about how ridiculous that is people!

The outdoors are literally the one thing everyone on the planet should have access to, AND IT'S FREE.

We decided to make better use of our platform to make a change in OUR community. Donating to #BLM causes is the first step. The next step is voting in national and local elections (
pay attention to your District Attorney!). After that, take a look around at your own community and see where you can influence. It is unto us to become more aware and support causes that are giving access to BIPOC communities that need support.

We have compiled a few articles for more info:

Camping Anyone?

How’s it going my people?

Frothing to get outside on some adventures like I am?

I think this is the longest time I’ve spent in one place since I was a kid.

I’m ready to get out on some (responsible) adventures. Not something I’ve ever said in the past, but there is a first time for everything!

Restrictions around the country are starting to lift and everyone is asking the same question:

Is it ok to go camping?

To be honest, I haven’t yet, but I’m hoping to be off the grid sleeping in my tent for the first time when this hits your inbox. It’s likely going to be pretty close to home, but I can’t wait to sleep in the dirt, my home-away-from-home!

REI one of our oldest partners released some great information about how to
recreate responsibly

At the end of the day it boils down to a few simple ideas:

#RECREATERESPONSIBLY
Get out there, be safe and don’t forget to stock up on some coffee!

4/20/2020

4/20/2020

Hey team! How’s everyone doing out there?

You doing okay? Washing your hands for 20 seconds? Finished up all your Netflix series you’ve never watched?

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

If you are like me you’re on a cooking binge and looking to change it up a bit. It’s April 20th, so I tried to make a video about making these amazing “best day ever” coffee cannabis oatmeal cookies but the truth is I ate too much batter and the video was unsuitable, even for our standards! It happens.

Here’s a list of the ingredients and directions if you want to try to make them yourself, trust me they could possibly be the "best (QUARANTINE) day ever" munchies.

INGREDIENTS:
3 cups old-fashioned rolled oats
1½ cups all-purpose flour
2 sticks of Alpine Start
½ teaspoon baking powder
½ teaspoon salt
1 cup unsalted butter (I used
Sweet Grass Cannabis Butter,
but you can make your own)
1 cup light brown sugar
1 cup granulated sugar
2 eggs
1½ cups semi-sweet chocolate chips

DIRECTIONS:

  • Pre-heat oven to 350 degrees and line 2 large baking sheets with parchment paper.
  • In a medium bowl mix together flour, coffee, baking powder and salt.
  • In a large bowl beat butter until creamy than add sugars and eggs until fully mixed in.
  • Stir in dry ingredients including oats and chocolate chips.
  • Roll dough into roughly 2-tablespoon balls or desired cookie size and place on baking sheets.
  • Bake cookies until golden brown about 20 minutes. Let cool and enjoy!

The nice people at Netflix just launched a new series today with Kelis (remember her? Her Milkshake brought all the boys to the yard...!) called Cooked with Cannabis.]

These chefs are a little more seasoned then I am.

Ever wonder why 4/20 is such a big deal? Where did this infamous number come from anyway?
Vice breaks it down.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

With most of the country still at home this 4/20 is suspected to be the biggest one yet! I mean how could it not be?
Technically every day this month is 4/20

Stay safe and wash your hands!
