Getting up in the morning suspended 1,000 feet up on a rock wall is just a normal day at the office for Matt Segal, founder of Alpine Start and professional rock climber. Matt has climbed routes around the world for the last 20 years. Through all of that time of coffee stains and Aeropress accidents on high ledges, he decided that there had to be a better alternative. And with that, Alpine Start was born.

In climbing terms, an Alpine Start involves waking up before the sun to ensure the best climbing conditions, but we like to think that you’re just YOLOing and squeezing as much into your day as you can.
