Morning Glory Smoothie

Sometimes, with Alpine Starts, there’s so little time in the morning that one needs to combine breakfast and coffee into one step. While tossing in a cup of coffee to your usual berry and greens smoothie wouldn’t taste great, there is an alternative way to get your morning nutrients and caffeine with just one blend. This smoothie was my go to on early winter mornings before heading up Jackson Hole’s classic dawn patrol ski lap on Mount Glory. The banana and mulberries give you instant energy while the cashews provide enough protein to keep you going longer on the trails. And of course, the caffeine from Alpine Start will ensure that you’ll be the fastest on the bootpack- or at least the one having the most fun.

Ingredients
¼ cup dried mulberries
¼ cup cashews
1 banana
¼-½ tsp cinnamon (depends on your spice level)
1 tsp honey
¼ tsp vanilla extract
1 cup water
1 Alpine Start
1 cup ice
Directions
Mix water and Alpine Start packet together in a separate cup. Add all ingredients to a blender, pouring in the coffee last. Blend on high until smooth.

**I like to think of smoothies as fridge cleaners, so I often throw in more things in to boost the meal and ensure zero food waste. A handful of spinach tastes great, an avocado will make it creamier, or if you have adaptogens such as tocos or maca they flavor well in this drink.
