As climbers turned canoe campers we tried all the ways to do coffee while in the backcountry and dealing with grounds is such a pain. But enjoying your morning cup can be the only luxury you have out there so something that tastes good is worth it! Alpine Start coffee was a game changer! Its perfect.
The coffee resolves easily and it has a strong taste hints of dark roasted beans. Unfortunately, I prefer lighter roasts and therefore one star off. I was also really excited about a coffee with creamer premix, but I wish it would have more creamer in it. Together with the dark roasted coffee and the low amount of creamer it tasted very bitter. Anyway, I can see how this might appeal to others. It was definitely tasting like good quality ingredients and dissolved easily, no clumps.
Please do not ever stop making Dirty Chai! It is truly a warm, delicious morning cup in a packet. Especially for those of us who are lactose AND oat milk intolerant! I first enjoyed Alpine Start Dirty Chai years ago on a cold damp morning in the backcountry of Yosemite. Ever since, it has become a staple of my mornings on trail and also on days when I am hurrying out the door to my office job. It is a rare product that ACTUALLY DELIVERS what the label claims. Inside one of my Dirty Chai shipments once, there was enclosed a black and white picture of Alpine Start founders Matt and Alex. Their vibe is so happy and positive that my wife and I have kept that picture near our tea station ever since. Please keep it going guys! Dirty Chai is truly a one-of-a-kind product!
